EAP Ethics Committee 2026 Meeting

2026 წლის 13 მარტს ენვერ ჩესკოს და ანანო ნიაურის ხელმძღვანელობით ჩატარდა ფსიქოთეაპიის ევროპული ასოციაციის ეთიკის კომიტეტის ყიველწლიური შეხვედრა. ანანო ნიაური – ეთიკის კომიტეტის თანათავმჯდომარე ამავდროულად არის ჩვენი აკადემიის იურიდიული მრჩეველი. კომიტეტმა იმსჯელა ფსიქოთერაპიის დარგში მიმდინარე უახლესი გამოწვევების შესახებ. განიხილა ეთიკის კოდექსში დამატებების შეტანის საკითხი. მომზადდა კომიტეტის ოფიციალური პოზიცია ფსიქოთერაპიის დარგში ხელოვნური ინტელექტის გამოყენების შესახებ. ერთხმად დამტკიცდა ფსიქოთერაპიულ ორგანიზაციებში საქმიანობის ეთიკის პრინციპები რომელზეც კომიტეტი რამდენიმე წელია მუშაობს.

Public Lecture “Parent-Child Relationship”, November 22, 2025

On November 22, 2025, a public lecture “Parent-child relationship and its importance for ensuring mental health” was held at the Vake Mediatheque. The lecture was led by psychologist Mariam Khmaladze, a practitioner of integrated psychotherapy. The public lecture was held within the framework of the joint project “Society and Mental Health” of the Tbilisi Multifunctional Libraries and the Georgian Federation of Psychotherapy Dendron. Participants had the opportunity to listen to important features that contribute to the formation of healthy family relationships and emotional well-being in the parent-child relationship, as well as ask questions on issues of interest to them.

A new issue of the EAP Journal of Psychotherapy has been released.

The 2025 issue of the EAP scientific journal (IJP International Journal of Psychotherapy) of the European Association for Psychotherapy has been published.

In the journal, you can read the article “The Impact of Trauma on Drug Addiction: A Comprehensive Analysis” by Marine Begashvili, Director of the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrated Psychotherapy.

EAP Ethics Committee Annual Meeting 2025

On October 16, 2025, the annual meeting of the EAP Ethics Committee of the European Association for Psychotherapy was held in Prague.
Anano Niauri, Legal Advisor to the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrated Psychotherapy, participated in the meeting as Co-Chair of the EAP Ethics Committee.

The committee discussed the latest challenges in the field of psychotherapy and mechanisms for responding to them, including the relationship between the use of artificial intelligence in the field of psychotherapy and ethical standards. Taking these challenges into account, the committee discussed amendments and additions to the Code of Ethics for Psychotherapists.

The committee was presented with a draft version of the European Association's new guideline, "Ethics Guidelines for Organizations," which was developed by a working group consisting of Courtney Young, Enver Tsekko, Anano Niauri, Jose Castillo, and Maria Cardini.

EAP Scientific Research Committee Annual Meeting in Prague

On October 16, 2025, the annual meeting of the EAP Scientific Research Committee of the European Association for Psychotherapy was held in Prague.
Nino Kobakhidze, a board member of the Georgian Federation of Psychotherapy Dendron and the coordinator of educational programs at the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrated Psychotherapy, participated in the meeting as an individual member of the EAP Scientific Research Committee.

The committee presented the document „The Effectiveness of Psychotherapy: A Modern Evidence-Based Review“.
In addition, the committee discussed the importance of including a research component in the process of studying psychotherapy and the challenges faced by European accredited psychotherapy training institutions in this process.
Nino Kobakhidze shared her experience on implementing and organizing a research component in the educational process of the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrated Psychotherapy.

European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy AGM 2025

The Annual General Meeting of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy (EAIP) was held in Limerick, Ireland, on 10 October 2025. The meeting was opened by EAIP President Oana Maria Popescu, who presented an extensive report on the association’s activities over the past year. Members heard reports from the association’s committee chairs and officers, including the European Association’s Ethics Officer – Anano Niauri and Marketing Officer – Nino Kobakhidze, who also serve as members of the association’s Executive Committee. The competency framework for an integrative psychotherapist was approved, and other important organizational issues were voted on. In the coming days, the focus of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy will be the 12th European Congress of Integrative Psychotherapy, jointly organized by ARPI and EAIP, which will bring together professionals, researchers and practitioners from different European countries to share new perspectives and research results in the field of integrative psychotherapy. The International Academy of Mental Health and Integrative Psychotherapy is a full, accredited member of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy and participates with voting rights in the activities of the highest governing body, the AGM. Our Academy thanks the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy and its member organizations for their cooperation and contribution to the development of the field of integrative psychotherapy.

Training – Integrated Theory of Character Formation

On September 21, 2025, a training was held - Integrated Theory of Character Formation.

The training was intended for students of the European accredited program in integrated psychotherapy.

Students attended a workshop on clinical work with borderline personality disorder. The workshop was held as part of the Integrated Model of Character Formation module.

The training was led by Lisbeth Plisart.

Holder of the European certificates of psychotherapy ECP, ECIP. Specializes in interpersonal neurobiology with Dan Siegel. Active member of GAINS (Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology); Certified Emotion-Focused Couples Therapist (ICEEFT); Certified Gestalt Practitioner in Organizational Direction (EAGT).

“Integration Days 2025”

"ინტეგრირების დღეები 2025"

On September 12, 2025, a roundtable discussion was held at Tbilisi State University on the topic: „"The Place of Psychotherapy in the Healthcare System"“. The event is the Academy's annual event, „"Integration Days"“ It was held within the framework.

The guests of honor at the event were:

  • President of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy (EAIP) OANA MARIA POPESCU

  • President of the Georgian Psychiatric Society Nino Okribelashvili

Oana Maria Popescu presented a report on the topic „"Standard of Psychotherapeutic Education in Europe"“. The founder of the academy Marine Begashvili Yes, report. „"On the advantages of integrated psychotherapy"“ Read it.

In a roundtable format, participants discussed the role of psychotherapy in the healthcare system, the challenges of psychotherapy education in Georgia, and the means of creating psychotherapy services based on best international practices.

Attendance at the event was free and anyone interested could participate.

Summer School 2025

“Life Scenarios and Their Transformation”

On July 20-25, 2025, the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrated Psychotherapy hosted the second annual Summer School “Life Scenarios and Their Transformation”.

The location of the 2025 Summer School was Samegrelo, Martvili.

The lecture program was led by Maia Begashvili, Head of the Academy, EAP National Delegate of the European Association for Psychotherapy in Georgia, ECP, ECIP certified psychotherapist, EAIP member expert.

School participants learned about the nature of life scenarios, functional and dysfunctional scenarios, and techniques for identifying and transforming them.

Along with the lecture program, the school participants visited the Martvili Canyon, the Abasha River, the Kaghu Waterfall, the Martvili Monastery, the Dadiani Palace, and Nokalakevi.

The Academy would like to thank Maia Begashvili for her authorial lecture program and each participant for their active engagement and the unique experience that each of them brought to the project.
