The Georgian psychotherapist was involved in the committee work of the European wide accreditation organization

We are happy to inform you that the founder and president of the Georgian Federation of Psychotherapy, Maia Begashvili has joined the expert group of the membership committee of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy, a European wide accreditation organization. This is the first case of involvement of a Georgian psychotherapist in the committee activities of the European wide accreditation organization.

Maia Begashvili is a licensed doctor psychotherapist (state licensing), ECP psychotherapist with ECP European certification in multimodal direction, ECIP holder of ECIP European certificate of Integrative Psychotherapy.

In 2011, Maia Begashvili founded the non-governmental organization Dendroni,which aimed to develop the field of psychotherapy in Georgia and harmonize it with the pan-European standard. Since 2014, the organization is a full member of the European Association of Psychotherapy and promotes the spread of its standards in Georgia. In 2021, under his leadership, the Georgian Federation of Psychotherapy Dendroni, became a national umbrella organization, thus for the first time in the history of Georgian psychotherapy, the Georgian professional society took a place next to qualified European umbrella organizations.


Maia Begashvili Maიa Begashvili is the head of the International Academy of Mental Health and Integrative Psychotherapy and the introducer of the field of Integrative Psychotherapy in Georgia. In 2018, he became the first specialist from Georgia to obtain the ECP certificate. She is currently working with international psychotherapeutic organizations on issues of sectoral cooperation and rapprochement in the field of psychotherapy and mental health.

We congratulate the Georgian professional society for once again bringing the name of Georgian psychotherapy to the international professional society. Our team hopes that the bridge we have built between the Georgian and European psychotherapy societies will facilitate many young specialists on the way to qualified and ethical psychotherapy practice and professional self-realization on the national and international arena.
